William Halford Ph.D., received his Ph.D. from the Louisiana State University Medical Center, New Orleans in 1996, performed his postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania and joined the faculty of Tulane University Health Science Center in 2000. Dr. Halford accepted his current position as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology at Southern Illinois University in 2007. His research has focused on the biology that explains how herpes simplex virus (HSV) alternates between latent and active infections. Dr. Halford has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, reviews, book chapters, and patents, which focus on HSV biology and practical applications of this knowledge. Agustin Fernandez (III) is an Oscar and Emmy winning film and television producer with a successful career in film fund development and medical investment. Early in his career, Mr. Fernandez served as the managing director of MegaFilms, the production and distribution division of Spanish Broadcasting system (NASDAQ: SBSA), the largest Hispanic-controlled media and entertainment company in the United States. Agustin went on to develop numerous film funds, each in excess of $100 million for which he played an instrumental role in fundraising and overseeing high-level strategy implementation.
